Kai-Fu Lee is a Taiwanese computer scientist, businessman, and writer. Dr. Kai-Fu Lee is known for his work in AI research, mentorship, entrepreneurship, and investment. Throughout his career, he has consistently demonstrated the ability to foresee trends and technological breakthroughs before they became mainstream. He has made significant contributions in the development of speech recognition technology at Apple and later at Microsoft.
Furthermore, Kai-Fu Lee’s tenure as the head of Google China and his establishment of Sinovation Ventures, a prominent venture capital firm, highlight his foresight in recognizing the potential of the Chinese tech market. Through Sinovation Ventures, Kai-Fu Lee has provided financial and strategic support to numerous startups and entrepreneurs, enabling them to transform their ideas into thriving businesses.
Moreover, Kai-Fu Lee’s diagnosis of cancer and his subsequent battle with the disease demonstrated his adaptability and resilience. Despite facing a life-threatening illness, he continued to contribute to the tech industry and pursued his passion for AI. This journey is very inspiring to a number of our colleagues at FCC.

He lays strong emphasis on cultivating a growth mindset among his mentees. He encourages students to embrace failure as a part of the learning process and to persevere in the face of setbacks. This mindset is crucial in the work at FCC where innovation often comes through a lot of trial and error.
